Swept Away (age 16 & 19) - Girl Group
Sometimes you can find members for a band or group right in your own home. When Jamie Rich (19) decided to make a career change from commercials to music, she took her younger sister Amanda (16) in with her to voice lessons. The duo called themselves The Little Divas and could be found singing Spice Girl songs at local parties in South Florida until a producer told them to develop their own music and style. The sisters then dubbed themselves Swept Away and soon found themselves on the Disney Two Hour Show and Jenny Jones.
Taking their careers in their own hands, Jamie and Amanda submitted their song Everytime to 23 roller rinks on the East Coast. Soon, everyone was wondering who these girls were. Not to let any new fans down, Swept Away organized a 27 city radio tour on the East Coast themselves this past summer.
The sisters have taken a small break to return to school. Both are committed to writing more material for Swept Away, with Amanda learning guitar and Jamie becoming a better singer/songwriter.

Justincase (ages 13-17) - Band
There's no better book for advice on how to get into music then So, You Wanna be a Rock Star The book puts focus on picking an instrument, starting a band, tips and tricks to success, as well as reviews and interviews with other young teens who have committed themselves to making and promoting their songs. One such band is justincase. Think Hanson, since the band is made up of all siblings, and it is fronted by older brother Justin Tosco (17). When Justin decided wanted to start a band several years ago, he looked to his brother Nick (15) and little sister Hannah (13) to be his bandmates. Nick got the drums, while Hannah picked up the bass and keyboards (she also can play the flute).
Hannah remains an A student and was also captain and MVP of her school's basketball team. She and her brothers just released justincase's first album, Upstart which you can WIN a copy of, as well as a signed photograph of the band. How? Just check out the Official justincase web site at and then email Zone Tones at and let us know why you like justincase! Winners will be randomly drawn and contacted via email in Feb. 2001.

Amanda Jones (ages are secret) - Band
Contrary to popular belief, Amanda Jones is an all-girl band and not a person (actually, no one in the band is named Amanda!). All the girls in Amanda Jones have been playing their instruments for a long time and looking for other girls who share an interest in writing pop/rock songs. Teresa started playing guitar in the 8th grade and drummer Kristen has been banging on the drums since she was 12!
Amanda Jones started in the late 80s but soon fizzled out like many young bands. Years later, two former members of the band, Teresa and Vicki (bass) decided it was time to bring the band back together. With the experience they both learned over years of playing with other bands, the girls found new members and set off to create one of the best girl bands in the South. Amanda Jones soon released a CD entitled Voices and started to make headway into the music community. Earlier this year, the girls won the Best Band Award on the Jenny Jones show and in November received a spot playing at the Rockrgrl Conference in Washington.

ID3 (ages 17) - Singing/Dance Group
We all look for our twin, someone who likes the same things we do and our match in every way. Well, ID3 not only found their twins, they are for real (actually they are triplets)! These sisters started out hosting the TV show The Club and making an exercise video for kids when they were in junior high. They also were promoting fitness for teens by being the youngest members of the Nike Athletic Team and Culture Shock Las Vegas Troupe, making appearance all over the USA.
Then one day, Abbey, Bailey and Rachel decided to mix their fitness routine with music, starting their own dance and singing group ID3 (standing for The Identical Triplets). Working on hip hop moves and Pop/R&B vocals, ID3 has begun to make a name for themselves. You may have seen them in November 2000 performing on The Maury Povich Show or in December 2000 on The Jenny Jones Show, performing at various Radio Disney gigs opening for such acts as Aaron Carter or Christian Davis; or on stage at Pink's After-party during the summer of 2000.
Visit the ID3 web site for music and more! If you like what you hear, email us and enter yourself to win a ID3 CD and signed photograph!
