Well girls, I was going to do a special Crush feature on N'SYNC but then a little bird (named Colette) told me about a California band named The Calling. While the boys of the world's favorite Boy Band are getting enough press, I figured I should go ahead and let you know about some new rising stars...

If you've been listening to the radio and have been watching TRL lately, you should have heard The Calling's first single, Wherever You Will Go. Composed of five alternative prince charmings, The Calling sounds similar to Creed but with lyrics that can make your heart melt from the intimacy offered up by singer Alex Band. The group was founded by Alex and guitarist Aaron Kamin, the little brother of Alex's old girlfriend. Together, they played several years in Los Angeles with a variety of musicians until the settled on bassist Billy Mohler, drummer Nate Wood and additional guitarist Sean Woolstenhulme. With over a hundred songs written and a strong line-up, The Calling took to playing all across Los Angeles impressing everyone with their powerful vocals and catchy ballads. It wasn't long before record companies (RCA) and even Hollywood took notice (the band appears in the movie Coyote Ugly). We think you will too, so that's why The Calling is December's Crush of the Month!
