Jabberwacky
We've got some news for you - you are not
as fat/ stupid/ ugly/ annoying/ or geeky as you think you are. Your worst fears
have gotten the best of you, and they are ruining your self-esteem. Stop it.
Now! Or you're gonna get hurt - emotionally and/ or physically. Don't know how
to stop? Try this:
- Get one or two of your closest friends,
and give everyone a shoe box with their name on it. On scraps of paper, have
everybody anonymously write what they like about each other and put it in the
boxes. Do this once a week, and in the meantime, when your voice is getting a
little too mean, read one of the slips. It's amazing what a psychic PowerBar
like that can do!
- Try to monitor your voice as much as
possible. When you hear it making a negative statement, argue with it - and
don't back down! Ask it why, or what proof it has, for example. After a while,
all the constant arguments will make your negative voice feel tired, and before
you know it, the positive one will have moved in and set up shop.
