Whipped TOPPING

Say that the icing on a cake is fluffy and white, any one can see it in all its whiteness -- but no one knows the color of the cake until they cut into it! It appears as if you have decided to keep your stuff locked tightly inside - only showing your icing. You are willing for people to see what they can see -- but all that they CAN see is what you will show to them, and darlin' that ain't much! It's totally cool to choose to be a private person. Many people are very happy that way.

BUT -- now listen up cause this is so very important -- everyone needs at least ONE PERSON that they feel comfortable with. You do too! You need someone that you KNOW will continue to care about you no matter what you let them see.

If it feels WAY too scary to even contemplate telling your secret thoughts to anyone -- consider this, start writing. It doesn't even matter if you tear it up into a million zillion pieces after you've written it (and read it to yourself). Just get it out. I tend to believe that our insides our a lot like refrigerators. We can store tons of stuff in there, but if we leave certain things on the shelf too long -- they start to go bad. Pretty soon, a spoiled thing starts to affect other items on a shelf near it.

So find a way to keep things fresh, to air things out. Look at what's in there -- either by talking to someone you trust or by writing about it. (Who knows maybe you'll write a best seller.) Keep the stuff you like. And the other stuff, the worries and the fears -- you might not be able to get rid of them, but you CAN take them out and keep them from becoming rotten. Keep them from affecting all the GOOD stuff you have inside. Oh by the way, don't be surprised if you pick a friend to tell stuff to, and SHE starts telling YOU the same kinds of stuff!!!
