Tweety

I don't have to tell you that night people don't want to be around you in the morning. All that energy and cheerfulness could drive us absolutely crazy. You are so lucky; most of the world is set up for people like you. Even little kids in school gets taught the harder subjects first thing in the morning because teachers figure that children are more alert then. (Not me, I was falling asleep).

Do me a favor, okay? Have compassion for the rest of us who can't even see straight until we have been up for at least an hour. And don't be so LOUD first thing in the morning.

You probably DO have problems staying up late for special occasions. Here are a few tips for those times when you really have to stay up late or you just plain want to:

Try to take a short nap in the afternoon. Make sure that you give yourself at least two hours after your nap to wake up or you might end up only feeling groggy for your efforts.

Eat lighter foods for dinner. Make sure you get protein and fruits but not a lot of heavy starches or fats. Those kinds of foods slow some of us way down.

Know your limits. Pretend that there is a warning label printed on your body that says: Do not operate heavy equipment, drive a car, ride a bicycle near traffic, or try to have an extremely important conversation with someone who really matters to you when you are tired.
