• Don't let you friends set you up with someone because you need a boyfriend.
  
• Prioritize. Decide what you want to do with your future and then figure out how boys factor in.
  
• Don't change how you look or act for anyone.
  
• If you start talking about boys (again!) with a girlfriend, call a time out and discuss something else, like whether or not popular culture teaches you to dislike yourself.
  
• Get involved in after-school activities or volunteer work. This will help cut down on the time spent obsessing and get you to meet new people outside of your own social circle.
  
• Make a Top Ten list of qualities a guy must have before you'll date him. Stick to it.
