Are you grading your looks too severely?

Color yourself beautiful instead...

It's time to tune into what's unique about you!

Do you have a riot of freckles? A waterfall of curls? A beautiful bump on your nose?

It takes time and effort, but you CAN learn to love your body. Try looking in the mirror everyday and saying three really nice things about yourself out loud. Correct yourself every time you begin to say something negative about your body (My ears stick out!) replace it with something positive (I have a great smile!) Soon, instead of looking for flaws, you'll be celebrating yourself and what your strong body can do!

Here's a definition for you: a stereotype is a person lacking individuality.

The Hollywood Stereotype for women - tall, blond, and skinny - is everywhere: movies, television, and magazines. So what? Why does the Hollywood Stereotype pose a problem for girls? One way girls get a sense of themselves is through these images of women. When the Hollywood Stereotype is what girls see, girls get the message that their own bodies are unattractive. One way to counteract the Hollywood Stereotype is to seek out images of women that highlight women's strengths (not looks) and their specific race or culture.
