Imagine that you are in a car accident and die, but you get a chance to come back to life. The catch is that when you emerge from your coma, your twin sister, who died when she was four years old, is inside your body with you! This happens to fifteen-year-old Janine Palmer.
Since I am a twin, I like to read books about twins but, even if you are not a twin, I highly recommend that you read this fascinating suspenseful mystery.
Janine and her boyfriend, Scott, cut school to drive to the beach. Another car runs a red light and skids toward Scott's car, injuring both Scott and Janine. Janine drifts out of her body and hovers over it while hospital workers try to revive her. In this condition she meets her deceased grandfather and her twin sister, Lenore, who had drowned in a swimming accident. Her grandfather tells her to go back because it's not her time to die yet. When she comes out of her coma, she finds that Lenore has come back with her.
Lenore starts having conversations with Janine and claims that Janine took her life. Janine denies knowing anything about Lenore's death. She just wants Lenore to get out of her body and go back where she belongs. Unfortunately, Lenore is enjoying having parents again, having a boyfriend for the first time, eating real food, and controlling Janine's body. Lenore refuses to get out of Janine's body until Janine remembers what really happened the day Lenore died.
Although Haunted Sister is sometimes hard to follow when the girls are called by the other twin's name, I enjoyed the book very much. In fact, I liked it so much that I read it all in one day! Since I am a twin I like to read books about twins but, even if you are not a twin, I highly recommend that you read this fascinating suspenseful mystery. Any girl who's ever had the feeling of two different personalities fighting in her head will like t his story. And you'll be satisfied with a very surprising ending!
Sisters, even ones that aren't twins, can be really weird, but mothers can be absolute ALIENS!!!! Read all about it in It Looks As If.
