Meet Sherman Mack. Short. Nerdy. Amateur P.I. and prepared to do anything for Dini Trioli.

Nobody knows who began it or when it became a tradition, but every girl at Harewood Tech fears being D-listed, a ritual that wipes her off the social map forever. When Sherman believes Dini is in danger of being D-listed, he snatches up his surveillance gear and launches a full-scale investigation to uncover who is responsible.

Could it be the captain of the lacrosse team?

The hottest girls in school, the Trophy Wives?

Part comedy, part mystery, and with all of Juby's trademark tongue-in-cheek humor, Getting the Girl takes on one of the cruelest aspects of high school: how easy it is for an entire school to turn on someone, and how hard it can be to be the only one willing to fight back.

Touch by Francine Prose Excerpt

What really happened at the back of the bus?

Did they, or didn't they?

Did she, or didn't she?

Something happened to fourteen-year-old Maisie Willard—something involving her three friends, all boys. But their stories don't match, and the rumors spin out of control. Then other people get involved . . . the school, the parents, the lawyers. The incident at the back of the bus becomes the center of Maisie's life and the talk of the school, and, horribly, it becomes news. With just a few words and a touch, the kids and their community are changed forever.

From nationally acclaimed author Francine Prose comes an unforgettable story about the difficulties of telling the truth, the consequences of lying, and the most dangerous twist of all—the possibility that you yourself will come to believe something that you know isn't true.

And to think this all started by Austin shooting some free throws! In fact, this remarkable young man founded Hoops for Hope, and organization that has people sign up to shoot hoops, get sponsored for every basket they make, and the raised money goes towards improving the lives of the impoverished in Africa. Autin knows that some miracles have happened in his life, but he's still just a normal fifteen-year-old. So if ordinary Austin could do all this, then that means all teens could go after their own dreams in big ways as well, right? Exactly. In this book, through is stories and life lessons, Austin calls all readers to go out there and take your best shot!

77 Creative Ways Kids Can Serve by Sondra Clark, Wesleyan Publishing House
Sondra Clark, who was 18 at the time her eighth book was published, has volunteered in Kenya, Uganda, Peru, Mexico, Guatamala, Germany, Canada, Spain, and all over the United States. This has been a great experience for her, but she knows that all of this extensive volunteer travelling isn't availible for all kids. So, she wrote 77 Creative Ways Kids Can Serve, a book, as the title suggests, contains 77 step-by-step service projects that any kid can do. So, as Sondra says, Happy Volunteering!

Why You'll Love It:
•Perfect for kids ages 8-13, but also a good resource for those who are older or younger.
•Sondra Clark wrote eight books before she became an adult. Seven of those are for kids, and one was coauthored by her mom for parents!
•Volunteering no longer has to be difficult; everything you need to know is laid out on these pages.
•In addition to the 77 projects, there is an interesting opening and helpful conclusion.
•Will give good projects to accomplish over summer, plus good ideas to fulfill school/club community service requirements.
•The projects are diverse-something for kids with every interest!
•A real book for real teens by a real teen. Each chapter in this book sheds light on different topics that exist in every girl's life- from peers, to school, to family, to the future. Every chapter includes journal prompts, conversation starters, activities to try, and inspiration from real heroes. You're Amazing! is presented by Girls Inc., an organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Aster Flynn is a teenage girl who thinks that her life is anything but normal. She hasn’t seen her dad in years, her mom is always working, her older sister is too obsessed with her boyfriend, and her younger sister is mentally handicapped, leaving Aster to fully care for her. Since she’s so occupied with housekeeping and her sister’s needs, she hardly has a life of her own. She hasn’t even had a boyfriend, until Owen, AKA Mr. Popularity, takes an interest in her.
