Lauren House Lauren Elizabeth House was born Nov.6, 1978 and grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. She will graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design in Spring 2000, majoring in Illustration. She was an assistant to a scientific illustrator in the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum in Washington D.C. and competed for and was awarded a place in RISD's European Honors Program, studied in Rome, Italy for 9 months. Bobbi Pritt Bobbi Pritt makes her home in Burlington where she attends medical school and plans to become a Pathologist. She's always loved studying diseases and getting her hands dirty, and also wants to teach other doctors and students, so this should be a great career for her. She didn't always have this all figured out though. After a year and a half of medical school, she realized that there were other things she needed to do in life, and, in a tough decision, withdrew from school. Money now came from jobs as a secretary, research assistant and cake decorator, while on the side she was learning graphic design, taking pottery and painting classes, caving, and even trying a little acting. Within months of leaving, she became a member of a small non-profit theater company and an intern with Girl Zone. When the Art Director went on maternity leave, Bobbi took on responsibility for all of Girlzone's month-to-month graphic design needs. Meanwhile, the next 2 years were spent in intense contemplation about the future. Inspired by her friends still in medical school and doctors that she met in the community, she had a change of heart and decided to reapply to medical school. She feels very lucky to have been re-accepted and will now graduate in May 2001. Somewhere in the midst of studying and working, she still loves to do illustrations for Girlzone, and continues to paint with oil and watercolors. If you have any questions about any of her interests, including theater and graphic design, please email her at bpritt@zoo.uvm.edu. Elizabeth Demello I graduated with a BS degree in nursing. I have a natural talent for art. I am enrolled in the computer graphics program at Rhode Island School of Design. I decided to combine my love of science and art. I will be working as a medical illustrator/graphic designer starting March 27, 2000. Alexis Masnik April Wilson April Wilson is born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Ahead of her time, only 17, with a much older attitude and a different state of mind. April has had to suffer through many hardships in her short life; the toughest one being her mother's cancer among many other serious tragedies. To keep her spirits up, April would sit for hours and just draw..for anyone willing to see. Making other's happy in return made April happy. She continues on with her art still to this day, expanding out into the fields of music, dance, acting, and into computer animation... She hopes to graduate next year and then move on to the school of her dreams, The Art Institute of Atlanta to study one of the many different courses they offer (which one to choose!!!) Whatever happens in the future, art (in some form or another) will always be apart of her life. She would love to hear from you! Please
