C'mon Mom
20 million kids play team sports every year in the U S. Of all the volunteer coaches out there, only 8 to 10 percent are women, AND not all of these women are players' moms.
Since moms spend TONS of time cheering for their kids and getting them to games and practices, why don't they coach?
Maybe, just maybe, it's because moms feel they don't know enough about sports. If they did, they could support their kids better from the sidelines AND they might even feel comfortable volunteering for coaching positions.

Why is it SO important for moms to coach?
First of all if you have a little sister or know any younger girls you probably realize that they need to see women involved in sports. They need to get the message that sports ARE for girls!!!
It's also important for moms who might not have had a sports background to get into sports so that they know for themselves that women ROCK when it comes to sports!
Girls everywhere are playing sports, loving sports, excelling at sports. It's time their moms were too!
