Catholic Hospitals Withhold Information
Ms. Magazine reports that a survey done by the University of Pennsylvania discovered that when women and girls who had been raped were taken to Catholic hospitals that they were not being told about emergency contraception. Now, if a woman or girl is a Catholic who doesn't want contraception under ANY circumstances, this is not an issue for her. BUT if a girl or woman DOES want emergency contraception or WOULD if she knew about it, then her CHOICE is being restricted in these hospitals. Researchers suggest legislation that would require ALL hospitals to meet a set standard of care.
